The “Electoral Geography: Mapped Politics” Website

-This is the first serious website in the world completely dedicated to all aspects of electoral geography

- The goal of this website is to provide information about the geography of elections all over the world, sharing information between internet users and researchers alike, who are interested in electoral geography. Our goal is not to collect all electoral results in the world, but rather is to collect electoral results on the level of administrative units and to visualize these results in maps where it is possible.

- “Electoral Geography” has existed since March of 2006. The official opening of the website means that all its sections are now open and ready to use.

- The website is created by geographers and political scientists Alexander Kireev (Seattle, US), who is responsible for the content, and Alexey Sidorenko (Moscow, Russia), who is in charge of the web-design and russian regional election content.

- The website has English and Russian versions. These versions are equal; however, the Russian version contains more information about elections in Russia, especially regional elections. Sometimes we have to translate geographical and political terminology from other languages into Russian and English and Alexander Kireev, who is in charge of translating, unfortunately speaks only two languages fluently (English and Russian) and his knowledge of other languages (Czech, Bulgarian, Romanian and Arabic) is quite limited. That is why any help in this difficult task would be greatly appreciated, especially when in comes to finding electoral results.

- The website is being regularly updated and new electoral results are being promptly put on the website.
